JISRA Ethiopia kicked off

EIFDDA has signed a Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) project with Faith to Action Network-Kenya aimed at promoting Freedom of Religion and Belief (FoRB). The JISRA is a five-year project which will be implemented in four cluster areas (project zones) in Ethiopia. Zone 1 encompasses Eastern Oromia and surrounding woredas from Harar, Dire Dawa, Somali. Zone 2 embraces border area between Western Oromia and Eastern SNNP. Zone 3 involves West Gojam zone within Amhara Region, Southern part of Lake Tana and Zone 4 involves Addis Ababa and the surrounding Oromia special zones. The strategic objectives of the project are to:
• Create inclusive, open, and constructive religious communities;
• Ensure peaceful interaction among religious communities; and
• Advocate Context and religious sensitive freedom of religion and believe policies and practices.
